(1) Potentially life-threatening, Rapid extending infection of submadibular space
(2) 대부분 Odontogenic source, Mandibular molar의 Periapical abscess에서 spread
(3) 임상양상
① Mild infection에서 빠른 속도로 진행
② 심한 구강통증 및 Drooling, Trismus, Tongue protrusion, Neck swelling으로 나타난다.
③ Airway obstruction 진행하면서 stridor 동반
(4) 치료
① Airway 유지 및 확보
② Antibiotics prn)surgical management to remove the dental abscess
